Daniel M. Reck

Daniel M. Reck has been ringing handbells for over fifteen years, and has performed solo and ensemble repertoire on tour in the United States, the Czech Republic, Austria, and France.  A member of the Handbell Musicians of America, he was selected to perform with the 2011 National All-Star Ensemble in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has performed with The Agape Ringers and the Detroit Handbell Ensemble, each of which are professional-level ensembles in their communities.

Reck was the long-time Media Director for the internationally-touring Allegro Handbell Ensemble of the Union Church of Hinsdale, Illinois. He was a music instructor at Hinsdale Central High School and Monmouth College in Illinois, and at the Indiana Academy at Ball State University in Indiana. He directed church music programs in Indiana and Illinois and was Director of Digital Services and Photography for the Northwestern University Bands for more than a decade.

As a composer, Reck has written and published works for symphonic band and orchestra, handbell ensemble, and various other small ensembles.  The works are published by forzandoArts.

Originally from the Chicago area, Reck studied computer science and music at DePauw University in Indiana, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree.  He holds a Master of Science in Education and Social Policy degree from Northwestern University in Illinois.
